Congrats Grand Canyon trekkers!  Everyone successfully completed the mighty Mischa Mokwa!      However, don't let your ego get in the way of your success.  The hardest day on the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim trail will far exceed what you've done on the Mischa Mokwa.  With only a month away from trip departure, you will want to put your exercise program into high gear.  Don't be the weakest link in your crew's chain!

We still have several crew members who have not turned in their medical form, permission slip (Scouts only) or final $200 payment.  You must do this now!

Congratulations to Ken Bonenberger, our new Grand Canyon poster child!  Ken has lost 35 pounds and plans on dropping a few more.

Each crew needs to recruit a volunteer to keep a backpacking trip journal.  This will be included in the master trip journal.  Please forward your volunteer's name to John.

Anyone needing a troop tent for the trip must contact Rick.  He will sign one out to you.  Remember the tent number so you can use the one assigned to you for the entire trip.  At the conclusion of the trip, take it home, clean it out, dry it and return it to Rick.

Anyone needing a troop backpacking stove/fuel cylinders for the trip must contact Rick.  He will sign one out to you.

Now is the time for your crew to plan trips meals.  Select a quartermaster, plan menus and buy your food.  Here are some tips to help you plan your meals accordingly:
     1. Each crew will have $22.50 a person to spend on all non backpacking meals.
     2. Each person will have $50 to spend on seven days of backpacking meals.
     3. Meals from June 29 - July 2 must require no refrigeration.
     4. We will stop for bread and milk for pre- and post-backpacking meals.
